  • Parent & Me Options

Swim Lessons for babies & toddlers typically fall into two very different categories- a parent & me class full of nursery rhymes as a fun activity to bring water familiarity & beginning safety OR private ISR classes where your baby can learn to effectively float on their back & save themselves. While ISR has proven to work for some, it can also be stressful in the process.

Melinda’s Minnows Parent & Me Lessons & Classes are designed as a midway point between the typical options for babies to blend the individual needs based approach and bring it to a younger crowd in an engaging and fun way for both of you. You will learn best practices for safety and promoting muscle memory so their bodies are ready to learn in a tear free environment. You & your child will learn techniques for how to blow bubbles, how to properly hold your child in different ways in the pool to promote their own muscles to engage in effective ways including both on their front & introducing back floating, safety skills, how different floatation devices can help or hinder future learning, and more.

Toddlers: They’re fun, they’re messy, and they usually have a deservingly strong opinion on who they’ll go to. This often makes starting private lessons difficult, particularly if they refuse to get into the pool or leave their comfortable parent’s side. A few parent & me lessons can bridge this gap and allow for a level trust needed for tear-free optimal learning.

30 Minute Parent & Me Private Lessons: $60 per pair, 2 minimum

Best For: Babies & Toddlers to Age 4, Toddlers with fears of the water or of new people, pre-private individual lessons.
